When he took down Your immaculate Body from the Cr When he took down Your immaculate Body from the Cross, the honorable Joseph wrapped it in a clean linen shroud with spices and laid it for burial in a new tomb.

When You descended unto Death, O Lord,
You who are immortal Life put Hades to death, by the lightning of Your divinity. And when You raised the dead from the netherworld,
all the hosts of heaven sang aloud to You, "O Christ God, Giver of life, glory to You!"

The Angel who had come to the sepulcher
said to the Myrrh-bearing women, "Ointments are appropriate for mortal men; but Christ is indeed a stranger to decay."

You, who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, were taken down from the Cross by Joseph, with the help of Nicodemus. When he saw You dead, naked, and unburied, he took up a moving lamentation; and stricken with grief he said, "Alas, O sweetest Jesus! When the sun saw You hanging on the
Cross just a little while ago, it wrapped itself in darkness; and out of fear the earth was quaking; and the curtain of the Temple was torn in two. And now I see You voluntarily undergoing death for me. How am I to bury You, my God? Or how can I wrap You in a shroud? With what hands shall I touch Your immaculate body, or what songs should I be singing at Your departure, tender-loving Lord? I magnify Your Passion, and I extol Your burial and Your resurrection, as I cry out: O Lord, glory to You!"

Today, He who suspended the earth in the waters is suspended on a cross. (3) The King of the Angels wears a crown of thorns. He who wraps the sky in clouds is wrapped in a fake purple robe. He who freed Adam in the Jordan accepts to be slapped. The Bridegroom of the Church is fixed with nails to the cross. The Son of the Virgin is pierced with a spear. We worship Your Passion, O Christ. (3) Show us also Your glorious Resurrection.
The blameless Virgin was watching as You were susp The blameless Virgin was watching as You were suspended on the Cross today, O Word of God. She lamented with motherly emotions, and it cruelly broke her heart. She sighed with pain from the depths of her soul, tearing at her face and her hair, and it wore her out. Then, beating her breasts, she mournfully cried aloud, "Woe is me, my divine Child! Alas, the Light of the world! Why did you sink from before my eyes, O Lamb of God?" Then the hosts of bodiless Angels were overcome by trembling and they said, "Incomprehensible Lord, glory to You!"

Judas, the transgressor of the Law, who at the sup Judas, the transgressor of the Law, who at the supper dipped his hand in the dish with You, O Lord, lawlessly extended his hands to take the pieces of silver. He who calculated the price of the fragrant oil was not afraid to sell You, the priceless One. He who offered his feet for You, the Master, to wash them kissed You deceitfully in order to betray You to the lawless. Thrown out of the company of Apostles, and having thrown down the thirty pieces of silver, he did not see Your Resurrection on the third day; through which, have mercy on us.

While the glorious Disciples were being illumined While the glorious Disciples were being illumined at the washing of the feet during the Supper, then, too, did Judas the ungodly one, succumb to darkness, being sick with avarice. And he delivered You, the righteous Judge, to lawless judges. Look here, O lover of money, and see the one who for money's sake hanged himself. Flee from the greed that made him dare commit such a deed against the Teacher. O Lord benevolent to all, glory be to You.

When the sinful woman offered the fragrant oil, th When the sinful woman offered the fragrant oil, then the disciple made his agreement with the transgressors of the Law. She rejoiced in pouring out the costly oil, and he lost no time in selling off the priceless One. She acknowledged the Master, and he was becoming estranged from the Master. She was emancipated, while Judas became a slave of the enemy. How dreadful was his rashness! How great was her repentance! Grant me this repentance, O Savior who suffered for us, and save us.

Behold, the Bridegroom is coming in the middle of the night; and blessed is the servant He shall find awake and watching; unworthy is the other He shall find being lazy. So beware, O soul of mine, be not overcome by sleep, so that you not be handed over to death and be shut out from the Kingdom. Come to your senses and cry aloud: Holy, holy, holy are You our God. By the protection of the Bodiless Hosts have mercy on us.
To confirm the general resurrection before Your Pa To confirm the general resurrection before Your Passion, You resurrected Lazarus from the dead, O Christ our God. Therefore imitating the children, carrying the symbols of victory, we cry out to You the Victor over death: "Hosanna in the highest! Blessed are You, the One, who comes in the name of the Lord."

An absolutely massive shout out to members of our An absolutely massive shout out to members of our St George Youth Group!

They came to the Cemetery for Soul Saturday today... Distributed Water to everyone in the Brisbane Summer Heat, offered a flower for everyone to use as an expression of spiritual affection for their loved ones, called the Ambulance twice for people that passed out in the heat, and made both of their Priests immeasurably proud of them.

Thankyou!
A Pharisee, by self-esteem dominated, and a Public A Pharisee, by self-esteem dominated, and a Publican, in repentance prostrated, both approached You the only Master. But the one, after boasting, was deprived of the blessings, while the other, not speaking, was counted worthy of Your gifts. Confirm me in such sighs as these, Christ God, since You love humanity.
