THE GREEK REVOLUTION LECTURE SERIES

Part 1 – Greek Women of the Revolution

Part 2 – Revolutionary Women: Challenging the Unfamiliar

This year’s lecture has special significance as it coincides with the 200th Anniversary of Greek Independence and is a very special event, as it incorporates two lectures and musical presentations by Christina Xydi-Lignou, Katerini Manolatos and Panayiota Kalatzis.  Being the 200th Anniversary of the Greek Revolution , the first lecture will cover the women of the Revolution of 1821 and is being presented by Dean Kalimniou a Melbourne lawyer journalist and poet.

The second lecture will feature Revolutionary Greek Women and will be presented by Brisbane historian, Helen Gregory and will look at three contemporary Greek women.

It promises to be an interesting informative and entertaining evening presented by the Greek Orthodox Community of St George Brisbane, AHEPA Queensland and Solomos Greek Australian Cultural Society.

The Greek Club’s signature restaurant,  Nostimo Restaurant and Bar has a special pre-lecture dinner offer that evening.  Call Nostimo Restaurant on 3844 1166 for bookings.
